— Project intent
A precise answer to the site and programme.
This residential renovation project in Auderghem, Brussels Capital Region, centres on the transformation of the roof profile as a means of redefining the volumetric identity of an existing single-family house. By reworking the roofline, the intervention gives the dwelling a renewed architectural expression that responds sensitively to the wooded, suburban character of its surroundings.
The new roof geometry brings coherence to the building's overall form, establishing a contemporary dialogue with the established residential fabric of Auderghem while respecting the scale and spirit of the existing structure. The approach is one of measured restraint, allowing a precise architectural gesture to carry the full weight of the transformation.
STARC, an architecture firm based in Gembloux and active throughout Wallonia and Brussels, led the design and execution of this renovation, combining technical rigour with a clear spatial vision adapted to the Brussels urban context.
