— Project intent
A precise answer to the site and programme.
In Dave, in the province of Namur (Wallonia), STARC designed and oversaw the construction of a detached four-facade family home, delivered turnkey at the closed shell stage. The project is set within a residential neighbourhood typical of the right bank of the Meuse, where the building's siting was carefully considered to optimise solar exposure and the relationship with the surrounding plot.
The chosen massing conveys a clear and contemporary character that sits comfortably within the built context of Dave. Integrating the garages into the main volume allowed for a well-ordered and functional street facade, while preserving the quality of the living spaces within. The interior layout was organised to ensure smooth circulation between the living areas and the sleeping quarters.
This new residential construction illustrates the architecture firm's ability to accompany clients from the design phase through to completion, ensuring consistency between the brief and the architectural response. Managing the technical requirements inherent to the closed shell stage was a key focus of this commission.
Located just a few kilometres from Namur, Dave offers a peaceful residential setting that informed the implantation and volumetric choices of this project, completed by STARC in 2022.
