— Project intent
A precise answer to the site and programme.
Located in Xhoris, in the province of Liège in Wallonia, this newly built detached villa is a residential architecture project designed to integrate thoughtfully into the rural landscape of the Ardennes region. Designed by STARC, the architecture firm based in Gembloux, the project develops a clear and balanced volumetry that engages with the open countryside and the local built fabric.
The siting of the house takes full advantage of the plot's natural orientation, ensuring generous natural light reaches the main living areas throughout the day. The choice of materials supports a discreet integration within the surrounding context while maintaining the formal sobriety and architectural coherence that define the character of the project.
The interior layout responds to the requirements of a contemporary single-family home, organizing living, sleeping and service spaces according to a fluid and functional logic. Each of the four elevations contributes to the overall reading of the volume and reinforces the relationship between the building and its site, creating a consistent dialogue between interior comfort and the surrounding landscape.
