In Houyet, in the province of Namur (Wallonia), STARC designed a detached single-family home in 2022, delivered as a turnkey project, with a restrained architecture that integrates carefully into the existing built environment. The chosen massing follows the residential typologies found in the immediate surroundings, ensuring natural urban coherence with the neighbouring buildings.
The architectural approach prioritises the quality of the interior spaces, in particular through generous natural light distributed throughout the living areas. The thoughtful interior layout ensures a high level of everyday comfort without compromising the sound organisation of the spaces.
The home also benefits from well-proportioned outdoor spaces, combining garden and terrace to extend daily life towards the exterior. This attention to the relationship between interior and the surrounding landscape contributes to the overall quality of the project, conceived as a measured and enduring response to the needs of a family in the lush setting of the Lesse valley.
