— Project intent

A precise answer to the site and programme.

In Evrehailles, in the province of Namur (Wallonia), STARC designed a detached single-family house with four elevations, delivered as a turnkey project, whose clear volumetry and carefully chosen materials integrate naturally into the surrounding village character.

The architectural approach is built around a composition of simple pitched-roof volumes. A rectangular main volume dominates the composition, with a secondary volume housing the attached garage set forward on the left side. This hierarchical arrangement gives the house immediate legibility and fits coherently within the existing building line and scale of the village. The positioning of the main volume, centred on the plot and aligned with the established building line, further reinforces this urban coherence.

The facade treatment balances two complementary approaches to openings. At the rear, generous glazed bays frame an open view over the garden and flood the interior spaces with natural light. On the street facade and gable ends, vertically proportioned windows establish a regular, measured rhythm across the elevations. Pink-brown facing brick, anthracite-grey roof tiles and matching PVC joinery create a unified and quietly contemporary aesthetic.

Spanning two levels, this new-build residential project combines functional efficiency, a clear architectural identity and a respectful response to the rural landscape of Namur province.
