— Project intent

A precise answer to the site and programme.

In Les Isnes, within the Crealys business park in Namur province, Wallonia, this new-build industrial project by STARC combines a production hall of approximately 650 m² with around 100 m² of office and staff facilities, articulated through a bold, compact volume that fully embraces the scale of its business-park setting.

Materiality is the primary expressive device of the composition. Standing-seam metal cladding in a deep black covers the entire envelope, giving the building a strong visual unity and a confident presence within the surrounding industrial landscape. In deliberate contrast, golden-toned reveals and trims punctuate the facade, framing the openings and marking the transition between the entrance volume and the main hall structure. This chromatic dialogue between dark and warm tones organises the fenestration and distinguishes the entry point without resorting to unnecessary volumetric complexity.

The main facade concentrates the architectural intentions of the project: a large glazed bay at first-floor level brings natural light into the offices and creates a visual connection between the workplace and the exterior, while a glazed ground-floor porch defines the visitor entrance. The remainder of the envelope, treated as a continuous surface, preserves the thermal and functional compactness of the production hall, whose side sectional door handles logistical flows without disrupting the frontal reading of the building.
