— Project intent

A precise answer to the site and programme.

In Sauvenière, in the province of Namur (Wallonia), STARC designed a new-build office premises of approximately 150 square metres of fitted workspace, set back 23 metres from the road axis in compliance with local planning regulations. The functional brief brings together an open-plan workspace, a meeting room, an archive room, a kitchenette and sanitary facilities, tailored to the day-to-day operations of an accounting firm.

Because the site sits roughly 1.50 metres below street level, an access ramp was introduced to serve the car parking spaces positioned in front of the building, a practical requirement for welcoming both clients and staff.

The restrained, well-defined massing is expressed through a clear material palette: white render covers the entire facade, while the roof is clad in anthracite grey slate, a tone echoed in the grey PVC window frames. Large vertical openings on the front and rear elevations bring generous natural light into the working areas, combining occupant comfort with architectural coherence.
