— Project intent

A precise answer to the site and programme.

In Sauvenière, in the province of Namur, Wallonia, this project consists of the extension of an existing commercial hall dedicated to the sale and demonstration of tools, designed with full architectural continuity with the original building.

The brief called for increased storage capacity, improved customer reception areas, and a dedicated space for tool demonstrations. These three requirements shaped the definition of the new volume, which extends the footprint of the existing hall in a natural and coherent manner.

The proposed massing, architectural language, and facade cladding, characterised by an anthracite finish, mirror those of the existing structure. This formal consistency ensures the extension integrates seamlessly into the built fabric of Sauvenière, maintaining a unified scale and material palette throughout the site.

Designed by the architecture firm STARC, the result is a restrained and operationally effective extension that strengthens the site's commercial capacity while preserving the overall legibility of the building.
