— Project intent

A precise answer to the site and programme.

In Sauvenière, in the province of Namur (Wallonia), STARC designed the extension of an existing industrial hall through the addition of a new industrial building and a commercial showroom, each positioned according to a distinct yet complementary implantation strategy. The industrial building is set perpendicularly to the rear facade of the existing structure, ensuring functional continuity with the ongoing activities on site. The showroom extends along the front facade, establishing a clear commercial presence visible from the public realm and giving the overall complex a coherent and legible face.

This dual volumetric articulation responds to a straightforward programmatic rationale: separating industrial and logistics flows from commercial ones, while maintaining an architectural unity across the whole site. The site plan organisation reflects careful consideration of uses, circulation patterns and integration within the existing built environment.

This mixed-use industrial and commercial extension project demonstrates the ability of the architecture firm to handle complex programmes in a Walloon context, balancing functional requirements with architectural coherence on an operational site.
