— Project intent

A precise answer to the site and programme.

In Temploux, in the province of Namur (Wallonia), STARC designed a new-build single-family house whose restrained and coherent architecture integrates naturally into the surrounding rural setting. The compact volume, aligned with the road and parallel to the neighbouring buildings, respects the scale of the existing built fabric while giving the house a clear architectural presence.

The careful siting of the house takes full advantage of the garden orientation. Large glazed openings were introduced in the living areas to maximise natural light and create a generous visual connection between the interior spaces and the outdoor landscape.

The material palette is anchored by a 65-module brick, whose vernacular character strengthens the building's integration into its rural context. A black tile roof finish and white PVC window frames complete a controlled and consistent palette that ties the house harmoniously to both its built and unbuilt surroundings.

This new residential construction in Temploux reflects the approach of this Wallonian architecture firm: a residential architecture firmly rooted in its place, attentive to scale, natural light, and the appropriate use of materials.
