— Project intent

A precise answer to the site and programme.

In Corroy-le-Château, in the province of Namur, Wallonia, STARC designed a four-sided detached house whose classical architecture sits naturally within its rural setting.

The compact volume matches the scale of the neighbouring buildings, to which the house is aligned in parallel. This considered siting ensures seamless integration into both the built fabric and the open landscape surrounding it.

The living areas benefit from generous glazed openings facing the garden, flooding the heart of the home with natural light. The facade materiality combines grey-brown brick with anthracite composite panel cladding, while the roof is finished with artificial slates in the same dark tone. These cladding choices, harmonised with one another and with the rural context, lend the whole a restrained, grounded character. Parking is arranged at the front of the plot, complemented by a carport, providing a total of four spaces.

This new residential construction project demonstrates how an architecture firm can deliver classical, legible and context-sensitive residential architecture without compromising the quality of the interior spaces.
