— Project intent
A precise answer to the site and programme.
In Beuzet, in the province of Namur (Wallonia), STARC carried out the renovation of an existing garage combined with the construction of a single-bedroom extension, creating a secondary volume that sits coherently alongside the main building. This attached volume carefully follows the building line while maintaining a smaller footprint and a lower eaves height than the existing structure, preserving a clear volumetric hierarchy.
The facade composition is governed by a strong vertical emphasis. The through-ridge dormer aligns vertically with the garage below, ensuring formal continuity across the elevation. The joinery, uniform in appearance throughout the volume, reinforces the unified reading of the architectural ensemble.
The roof follows the same typology as the main building, with pitched slopes clad in anthracite-toned slate, achieving a sober and contextually sensitive urban integration. This project reflects the architecture firm's ability to design restrained extensions in which formal discipline and material consistency take precedence over any ostentatious gesture.
